257.4 I walked for 45 minutes today, then did 10 push ups. I’m going to try 10 everyday this week. The next week, try 15. Or maybe 5-10 at a time several times a day? I have no real idea.
Also, I’ve started wearing a bandanna while I walk. So, there’s that.
I’d recommend doing as many pushups as you can and then waiting at least four days to try again. Pushups are essentially weight lifting and doing them every day to exhaustion probably won’t get you as much muscle growth as doing it every few days.
A couple years ago when I started running, I was doing pushups everyday. I tore a small muscle in my chest. Whenever I ran or even walked vigorously after that, it would aggravate that torn muscle. I had to give up running for a few months and I never really got back that momentum.
Anyway, I’ve been doing pushups lately, once every four or five days and have definitely seen good improvement. The first time I did 20 pushups and within a couple of weeks I was up to 30. Then I started breaking them into three sets, the last one to exhaustion. I’m doing almost 60 altogether now.
